Savers a.k.a. Value Village a.k.a. Village du Valeurs

Picture 2

Hands down one of the greatest things about living in Olympia was the existence of the greatest thrift store I’ve ever seen, Value Village. This chain operates throughout the Pacific Northwest (and apparently Canada!) and is without question the greatest thrift store experience I ever had.

Lamenting over the fact that Value Village is now so far away, I set out to see what sort of grand thrift options I had in my area. Sure, there are those oddly placed Goodwill megastores, but those are more like clearing houses anyway. But much to my surprise, in my research, I found Savers.

Savers, you see, is Value Village. And also Village du Valeurs. Savers operates over 180 thrift stores nationwide, and I’ve never been to a Savers, but I have been to a Value Village or two, and they’re incredible. So, this weekend, I am on a mission to visit all the Savers in my area. What will I find there? I’m pretty sure 50% of the clothing I own and 33% of the furniture I’ve had in the past 4 years has come from Value Village, so I’m hoping the chances that I’ll score some totally sweet goods is pretty high.

I’ll let you know how it goes, but in the meantime, see if there’s a Savers near you!
