The ill style of Jeff Soto

Gummivore

Southern CA robot painter extraordinaire Jeff Soto recently had his first signing at La Luz De Jesus in LA, and I am filled with infinite sadness that I couldn’t make it there. If you haven’t heard of him yet, I’d definitely say check out his stuff. He’s got a book coming out, Potato Stamp Dreams – The Art of Jeff Soto as well as some other new goodies available in his shop. He’ll also be doing two more singings at Visual Subject Matter in Costa Mesa Dec. 3rd, and Gallery 1988 in Hollywood on Dec 8th.

Obey Sample Sale

According to Poil11, deep in the heart of near the middle of nowhere, Obey is going to have a sample sale at the Obey Warehouse. Last year, the line looked pretty long, so head out early if you want to score the best in Obey paraphanelia. Who knows, maybe you’ll even see the wily Poil11 there too?

딸기가 좋아 (The strawberry is good!)

Dalki

When I was little, I was visiting my friend’s house and his sister came to the door and asked, “Do you guys want some doggy juice?” Doggy juice?!? I didn’t want to offend anyone, so I played it real cool… my friend seemed pretty excited about it, so I decided to hang in there and see what would happen, you know? A little while later, she came in with two glasses full of milky goodness, and I drank it. Why, it didn’t taste anything at all like doggy, much to my surprise! Puzzled, the foreign devil as I was, I asked my friend coyly, “Why do you call it doggy juice?”

The latest version of Firefox, 1.5, has been released. You really don’t have any excuse for NOT using it.

One of the things I love so much about Firefox are the extensions. Here’s a list of the ones I use most that make my life a whole lot easier:

If a tree falls in the woods…

Is it then replicated as a tower of steel and plastic and converted into a cel phone antenna?

I’d told people about these marvels of southern California, but those who had not seen them did not believe me. I kept meaning to take pictures every time I go down there but I always forget. Luckily, I randomly happened upon this student project of photos of these “unnatural wonders”. Click through and bask in the splendor of human achievement!

Would YOU rent an apartment to Ol’ Dirty Bastard?

I was searching for information on christmas papercrafts and somehow ended up on this blog with a post about renting to the one, the only, Ol’ Dirty Bastard (LOVE THE INTERNET!). I guess by now it’s kind of… well, not an option, but I really enjoy that the guy whose building they wanted to film ODB’s show in has a blog, blogged about it, and ultimately declined.

ASCII Owls

Ascii Owls-2

I found this list of, um… ascii owls… on Mike The Actuary’s blog. For those who are curious, an actuary is “a statistician who computes insurance risks and premiums.” Okay… Mike also has an affinity for freeways, highways and road signs.
