The end of October brought us The Japanese Ska Festival “2 TONE TIME” ‘05, featuring bands from ACROSS THE WORLD, traveling to Chiba, Tokyo, and other cities around Japan. Really!!
It’s hard to say, but ska might be alive and well in Japan, and as we’ve learned from the past, everything Japan does we do, eventually! Need proof? Budwiser True Music and the “SF Weekly” Warfield are footing the bill for the husk of ska, hanging on through life-support, to once again rise and get buck-wild. 3rd Wave warriors Goldfinger and Reel Big fish will be banding together January 15th, 2006 to skank the crowds and either provide the last gasp—or life-giving breath—into that lovable genre, ska. Tickets available through Ticketbastard for approximately an arm and a leg.
