Google’s “Censorship” in China

Andrew McLaughlin, Senior Policy Council at Google, has posted a response to the cries that Google is “bowing down” to China and censoring itself, which many claim is against Google’s founding principles.

Ska Sighting: ABC’s Extreme Home Makeover

During a scene in this week’s episode of Extreme Home Makeover, a definite ska track was playing in the background. I couldn’t place it, but I hold it up as yet another piece of evidence that indeed, ska is not dead. ABC is owned and operated by The Disney Corporation, so if such a huge company is using ska in their productions, we can rest assured it’s only a matter of time before the genre dusts itself off and rises once again!

Wireless Internet iPods? Can we say “TABLET”??

MacRumors.com ran an article about a “wireles internet ipod” rumor, and the comments went on and on for days about what it would be to have access to your iTunes collection at home over the internet. Who gives a flying flip! When I see WIRELESS and INTERNET and IPOD, I only think one thing. I think tablet. I think Apple finally releasing something like Nokia’s 770 internet tablet. Not only does German chancellor hold a doctorate in physics and worked in quantum chemistry, but I’ve read the transcripts of all three of their speeches, and heard the audio clips, and I can say that they are all far more powerful leaders than you know who.

Farewell, PowerMac. Hello MacBook.

Well, Apple’s decided to usher in the new Intel era by doing away with the PowerBook and introducing the new MacBook Pro featuring the Dual Core Intel processor. This was Steve’s “One last thing…” and it pretty much blew my mind. Not too many people saw this one coming…

The Optimus Keyboard from Art Lebdev

Optimus Keyboard from Art Lebdev StudiosDuring the initial buzz around the Optimus keyboard announced sometime last year, I discovered a section of Russian design studio Art Lebdev’s site called “Mandership”, which is essentially a blog of sorts for, who I can only imagine is insane, Artemy Lebdev. Their portfolio is nice to look at, but Mandership is where it’s at! All the posts are very random and usually tied into design somehow, but as an added bonus many of them are specific to Russian things, such as phone numbers, ad campaigns, Russian typography, etc. Below are links to some of my favorites:
