Ahhh the end of another year. I hope all of you had a safe and sane New Year’s Eve. I don’t really have any smashing top whatever lists of 2005, but in it’s stead, I present to you, the best of The Best Of 2005:
• The BBC lists the best “and finallies” of 2005, including a giant python that exploded when it tried to eat a giant alligator, North Korea’s attack on long hair, the world’s oldest phallus unearthed in Germany, and much much more!
• Reuters’ Pictures of The Year 2005 showcases 40 of their most impressive photos from world events in 2005. Mostly depressing stuff for a pretty globally disastrous and devastating year.
• IndiaFM’s The Hits And Misses of 2005 breaks down Bollywood’s best and worst, month by month for the last year. Also to be found here is the Top Tricks of 2005 to Sell Your Movie and the top Female Debuts of 2005.
• UseIt.com’s The Top Ten Design Mistakes of 2005 focuses on what’s gone wrong in the world of web design last year. I don’t agree with everything on the list, but there’s a lot of good points to be taken. • iFilm lists the Best of Viral 2005, remembering such memorable viral moments such as Kanye West saying Bush hates black people, Fox’s God Warrior from trading Spouses, Tom Cruise going buckwilde on Oprah, and all the other favorite viral pieces of 2005!
• And finally, Pitchfork’s Top 50 Albums of 2005 helps you fill in any gaps in your hipster music knowledge by filling you in on the best and brightest music to come out in 2005.
