Podcast of the Week: This American Life

This American Life

I’m kind of cheating by adding this one to the list, because it’s consistently listed as the No. 1 Top Podcasts in the iTunes Store, but if you haven’t heard it, I’d suggest giving it a try. This American Life is one of NPR’s most popular radio shows and has since been turned into a bonĂ© fide TV show on Showtime.

If you’ve never heard of This American Life, it’s what they call “journalistic non-fiction”. Creator and Host Ira Glass comes to us weekly with essays, memoirs, interviews, and more focused loosely around a common theme. One episode chronicled 24 hours in an all-american diner in Chicago. Another recalled stories from Summer Camp, and yet another featured people sharing their best good ideas gone bad. If you have an hour to kill during your daily commute, or keep missing the show when it airs on the radio, check out the weekly podcast and be entertained!
