I don’t really know all that much about Direct-to-Garment (DTG printing), but as someone who screenprints the old fashioned way, I see it pop up a lot on forums here and there. What I DO know is that a DTG machine will run you about $10,000 for a cheap setup, but some very smart people figured out how to do it for just about $200.
I can’t find the original site that pointed me in their direction, but the folks behind http://www.diydtg.com/ provide plans to build your own Direct-To-Garment printer by recycling an old Epson C88 inkjet printer (although you could modify the design to accommodate different printers, I’m sure). There’s even a video of their machine in action on YouTube.
What better way to print out some awesome photoshopped pics of you and wolves on sweaters for the holidays!
