Apple’s Pro series covers some very interesting uses of Apple technology in the arts and music. Their previous feature was on Bjork’s technical director, Allan Pollard, and talked about all the different crazy technology used in her live shows. This current feature on the French “new media” agency Trafik is not only a beautifully shot video, but also talks about the agency’s installation where they used a bunch of projectors, Adobe Illustrator, and Xcode to make some crazy giant sound-reactive cube, most recently shown at the contemporary art center La Ferme du Buisson in Paris.

I was lucky enough to catch a recent bit on PBS’s modern arts showcase, SPARK, about LA-based painter Sandow Birk. He said that he was staying in San Francisco for a week or so, and as he’d tell people he was from Los Angeles, their usual response wore on him. He got tired of hearing their diatribes against the smog, and traffic, and all the other things people tend to hate about The City of Angels, and thus, he was inspired to create.
